THUMB :: The eternal scriptures Veds, Upnishads and the Purans have configured the Almighty like the Thumb.
The soul present in the body of an organism acquires the shape and size of the human thumb, once its released from the body.
THUMB-FIRST PHALANGE :- It show will power and determination. If it is longer than the second phalange, it will indicate that the bearer has strong determination and will power. He should have the backing of a strong Line of Head as well, for correct actions in the long run. Lack of reasoning and and logic may lead to hasty actions and he may suffer later.
A long first phalange indicates tyranny and foolish obstinacy. He becomes obstinate and fight out matters to the end. He acts firsts and thinks later. He is impetuous and hard to convince. This is a case when good qualities takes a person too long-too far and makes him unsuccessful at the end.
THUMB SECOND PHALANGE :- If the second phalange is longer than the first one will have logic and reason more developed than his determination and will power. He will be intelligent-prudent and grasp things easily as compared to others. He will be very calculative in making expenditures. His judgements would be sound. However, he may fail to materialise his conceptions for lack of strong will & determination. He may merely turn into a talker only.
If the second phalange is too long one may discuss the matters to the end. he may not trust any one and become paradoxical.
Too short second phalange will turn one into a person who lacks common sense and one would not like to think before action.
Too long and broad second phalange reveals good understanding of material objects. But short and broad may turn him primitive type like an ape.
A slender second phalange will may make a person refined but nervous which will affect his reasoning.
TEXTURES OF HAND ::
SMOOTH HANDS :: One who possess this feature, has a very calm and unruffled temperament. He will rarely lose his temper and maintains calmness even in times of turmoil.
ROUGH HANDS :: One will have erratic temperament. He is usually coarse and earthy and is more fascinated with the concrete than abstract ideas. He is a hard worker.
SOFT HANDS :: The bearer is a sloth (आलसी, सुस्त). He might possess brilliant markings leading to designing great talent, but he will find it difficult to be motivated. He may lack perseverance. He may have a tendency for sensuality and immoral activities, lasciviousness-if the Line of Heart is too close to the fingers.
FIRM HANDS :: It denote a great deal of energy and drive and an active nature. One with firm hands will start many projects, often simultaneously and possess the energy and will power to attain success.
HARD HANDS :: One with this indication without springiness, bony and tough structure; lacks energy and enthusiasm leading to dispassionate, selfish and potentially pessimistic nature.

It grants long life, large agricultural tract of land and perfect health. The possessor will always be bent upon earning wealth. This is found over left hand thumb.
DESTRUCTION OF AUSPICIOUS EFFECTS :: Vasughni destroys all the auspicious effects of Hradya, discussed above. This is found over left hand thumb.

Lines over the palm keep on changing continuously. Line of Head in the right hand of a person disappeared completely and then reappeared after some time. As a matter of fact lines over the thumb never change. Even the microscopic lines do remain as such. Dharm Raj-demigod of death has said that if one is able to study the thumb of a person carefully, he can easily reveal the present, past and future of the client-bearer.
Date of birth can be ascertained by carefully examining the lines over the thumb, since it gives the natal chart of the bearer at the time-moment he was born. But its a very-very intricate subject and need hard labour and regular practice.
THUMB-AUSPICIOUS ISLAND :: This island formation over the left hand thumb is perhaps the only case in which the island is auspicious. The shape-figure is identical to barley.
Island is an inauspicious sign. It weakens the qualities of the lines and the mounts, wherever its present.
THUMB-CHAIN FORNMATION :: The line is made up of thick bell like formations, golden in colour. It grants undeceivality, fame and possession of golden ornaments. This is found over left hand thumb.
THUMB-BLISS :: This line rises on the lower side of the left hand thumb and gradually rises up without touching the other side of the thumb. It grants eternal pride of wealth and well-being, i.e., extreme happiness-bliss.
THUMB-LONG LIFE :: Rati is a dotted line joining the two ends-sandhi, of the thumb. Rati grants sexual pleasures. This is found over left hand thumb.
LOVE & ADMIRATION :: Hradya is a vertical line below Rati. A person with this line be loved by the whole world. A defective line create periodic disfavours.

LOSS OF HAIR :: This line starts from beneath Vasughani and proceed to the back of the hand to the region of hair. Both for men and women with such lines, indicate-suffer from loss of hair in proportion to the strength of those lines. This is found over left hand thumb.
A little below Dhani will be found Yavakya, which is vertical, touching the island. One this sign will be engaged in trading or agriculture. The name suggests plentiful of cereals like rice. This is found over left hand thumb. 
(2). HOUSEHOLD-FAMILY WAY :- This line describes the 2nd phase of human life between the age of 26-50 years.
(1). PUSHP-FAL REKHA-THE LINE OF RESULT-REWARD-OUTCOME :-
This line is seen below Yavakya with an upward course, reddish and wavy and lustreless. She creates pangs of separation from persons or things beloved or desired. By name it suggests colour blindness. Its found over the left hand thumb.
This line is found with the first Sandhi (joint) Rekha of the left hand Thumb, a little to the left and upwards and therefore tending to look at the back of the hand. It will be clear in formation. A person with this line will be sagacious, invincible but dependent on others. The name suggests the calling of the elephant as an illustration of its effects.
This line is seen at the back of the left hand thumb, starting from the base. It grants loved ones, sons, perpetual youth, happiness and fame. Its called so, since it gives youthful heart to the young and aged alike. It may be called so because either the bearer is childish in his pranks or one with perennial romantic disposition.It starts from below Bal Hradhya as a long and upward line. The bearer will be looking at his wealth every now and then for fear of loosing it. Its found over the left hand thumb.
THUMB BACK-LINES OVER IT :: These lines represent the 4 stages in the life of a human being.
(1.1). CHILDHOOD :- This is effective till one acquires the age of 14 years. It signifies the physical strength and development of mind & body. 10 processes of acquisition of virtues take place during this phase. This is the 1st part of 1st phase of human life.
(1.2). CELIBATE :- This is the 2nd part of 1st phase of human life. Education, mental development, intelligence, prudence and earnings are described by it.
(2). HOUSEHOLD-FAMILY WAY :- This line describes the 2nd phase of human life between the age of 26-50 years.(3). RELINQUISHED :- At the end of 50th year one should handover the responsibilities to his son and start prayers for smooth transition to next incarnation. This phase continues till 75th year.
(4). RECLUSE :: This is the last phase of one's life. He should become a recluse, sage, wanderer, saint and devote his full time to the worship of Almighty.
If these lines ore complete, without cut; one will not face difficulties during that phase of life. Broken, irregular lines shows tensions, pains-troubles in one's life during that period. A complete clear, well cut line indicate name, fame, wealth, comforts, luxuries.
THUMB LINES ::
(1). PUSHP-FAL REKHA-THE LINE OF RESULT-REWARD-OUTCOME :- Pushp means flower and this line, suggests that a person will bloom in life. This line is found between the first and second phalanges of the thumb. The barley formation or Pushp Rekha may be in the shape of an eye, straight line or it could even be broken or dented. It is common to have more than one line or two parallel islands. If it is in the shape of an eye, the possessor is lucky and never lacks in basic amenities in life.
If one has a straight line and another line parallel to it, it will indicate rising expenditure, money will flow in and flow out. To know the timings of the events, divide this line into three parts: the first part will be the first half of the life; the second part will be one’s middle age and the third part will be the twilight or later years of life. If total life expectancy is presumed to be 80 years, then the centre of this line would means 38-42 years of age. Calculation of age should start from the side where the fingers are and towards the side where thumb is joined with the wrist.
Pushp means flower and Fal means fruit. The conditions might lead the bearer towards Salvation as the reward-Fal of his endeavours-devotion to the Almighty, in previous incarnations. This happens when this line is associated by Kesar Rekha and the Rati Rekha. These 2 lines makes him relinquished, enlightened and an ascetic. One leads a happy, comfortable, luxurious life if this line is well marked-cut. In case its unclear-faded, one has to face troubles, pains in childhood, till 22 years of age. His education remains incomplete and he drops out of schooling. He experiences bitterness in childhood. During 22-32 years of age, he earns enormous wealth. If this line is like a knitted cord, he become quarrelsome and poor.
This line is termed as Parag (Pollen grains) Rekha as well. If the island is complete, the bearer will survive for 100-120 years. The segment of the line which moves from right to left indicates the husband and is called husband line, while the segment which moves from left to right shows the age of the wife and is termed wife line. If this line is broken-fragmented, it will indicate tension in family life-relations. Presence of a black mole will indicate mismanagement of earning-income and one's mate will die untimely. If the segment moving from left to right is unclear-faded and broken; his wife will have bad character and will maintain sexual relations with multiple partners. If this line is present in the hand of a woman her husband will maintain secret relations with many women. If this line is broken or faded at the termination there is a possibility of his son's premature death.
If this line is very clear in the beginning, while moving from left to right, one will be married in early childhood. Presence of parallel lines will show many marriages-wives. If some auspicious line merges with this line, one will definitely get benefit of land. If this line takes the shape of fish, it will indicate that one will suffer from cold, cough and blowing nose. There is the possibility of his birth during Pisces constellation. If this segment bears a cross, one will change business during 37-39 years and his wife's health will be sensitive during that period.
(2). MADHURA REKHA :- Madhur means sweet-pleasant as nectar. It indicates the sweetness of soul. Mostly this line is small and found only on the sides of the thumb.
One with this bright-shinning and small line has a liberal disposition and mannerism of the wealthy-rich. Spiritual, humane, philanthropists and charitable persons will have this line.
(3). MANDRA REKHA :- Mandara refer to Mandrachal Parwat, used for churning the ocean by the demigods & the demons to obtain elixir-nectar. This line reflects the possibilities of foreign travel (crossing of oceans to see far-away lands).
This line indicates movement to far away-distant places related with marriage.
(4). MAN REKHA :- Man (mind, psyche, inner self) refers to many wants and desires in personal relationships. This line is found only when a person has a plurality of relationships.
This line shows sexual desire. A man with this line will have illicit relations with many women and vice-versa. This line is rarely found.
(5). RATI REKHA-PASSION :- Rati is the wife of Kam Dev & Goddess of passion. Rati Rekha indicates marriage and also the kind of relationship the couple will share. When this line has a dot, is broken, dented, crossed or has an island, this indicates problems in relationships. If there is a subsidiary line above or below the line, it means more than one marriage or relationship or attachment-flirtations-casual relationship. If there is a black dot or scissor lines (bar), on this line, it indicates an unpleasant legal divorce. If this line is broken in many parts, there is an increased possibility of marriage not occurring at all.
This line is termed as Mohini Rekha as well. Mohini means one who can mesmerise-lure-attract any one for sex-passion-sensuality-sexuality. It shows attraction-attachment with the wife-sex mate, sexual behaviour, marriage comforts, love and adjustment. If this line is unclear-fragmented or has an island, the wife of the bearer will either die or divorce will take place and one will get married immediately.
In fact this line demonstrate sexual expertise-behaviour. A thick line shows that the mate is not acquainted-habitual-perfect with sex. If the line is thin, deep, shinning, it awards sexual satisfaction-pleasure. Broken line shows desire for some one else-more of sex and dissatisfaction.
Presence of island over this line indicates sexual diseases in his wife-mate.
If this line is unclear in the beginning, it shows that one will get sexual pleasure after the age of 28 years. If this line is twisted-tied like a cord, it shows presence of 2 married wives and that one will not have progeny from either of them. If a black spot-mole is present over it, the wife will die either due to tuberculosis or pneumonia.
(6). MALIKA REKHA :- Mallika meaning a white sweet smelling flower–Jasmine. This line, together with the island is very helpful in predicting past, present & future. This line is found at the base of the thumb, where the thumb meets the palm. Where and when this line is broken, at that age there will be changes in life. A dot or cross indicates there may be loss of health. When this line is thin and long; there is the sign of an eye on barley-island and the palm is pink rose in colour; the person will have great wealth and happy relations with his spouse and children. When there are auspicious signs (flag, triangle, fish, tree), the person will rise in social and economic status.
Presence of figures like fish, flag, leaf or snake skin over the line or around it tells that the person will be worshipped like God, during his life time.
If a figure like horn, island, snake, tooth, crab or scorpion is found around or over the line, one will be blessed with divine capabilities-calibre-talent, but will lead a simple-ordinary life.
If this line is built up of two parallel lines, money will come and go like the flow of river.
A broken line shows bad health. Presence of a black mole indicates venereal diseases, tensions and other diseases. White spot shows cough and cold.
If this line is violet, blue or greenish; one will have diseases like gas trouble, sugar-diabetes, sperm defects and uncontrolled ejaculation.
If this line is twisted, his progeny will be well known, famous, respected and brave.
(7). VAJRA REKHA (Thunder volt) :- This line would be found in the hand of the person who has auspicious-ascendant Venus or when Venus is placed at the centre or is Yog Karak-under active paraphrase, at the root of the thumb. This line grants good luck and grants wealth-comforts-luxury.
If the Rati-Passion Line is broken and the Vajr-Thunder Volt line is clear, the bearer would be wealthy-rich; but plagued by addiction of drugs and wine. He may acquire venereal diseases as well. Presence of Kesar-Saffron line would certainly make him a multimillionaire and he would be having fair chances of becoming an administrator-minister. But he will have either one or the other disease.
If the Vajr Rekha is clear and the Kesar line and the Fal Rekha-line of Reward are broken, he would be rich and have millions but he will not count income or expenses in millions.
Yog-Karaks are those planets which, confer fame, honour, dignity, financial prosperity, political success and reputation. The lords of the Kendrs and Trikons (if not also owning a Trikon or associated with a Trik-lord Lord of the 6th, the 8th, or the 12th house) associating with each other or the lords of the 9th and 10th interchanging signs or fully aspecting each other, give rise to Raj Yog.
(8). KESAR REKHA :- Kesar in Hindi means saffron. Saffron is the colour associated with the planet Jupiter-the planet of growth, prosperity, happiness and good luck. These are vertical lines on the thumb. The age at which these lines appear on the thumb, provides opportunities for growth and happiness in life. If these lines are thick, there will be obstacles and problems on the work front and in one’s personal life.
Presence of this line describes fame, wealth and rise of luck in one's life. Its absence tells that one will face lack of money and a life of hard labour. A thick line shows that one will earn a lot through his labour. Broken line shows lack of stability or gain in any profession-trade. He will have to do a lot of hard work and face difficulties to survive. If this line is thin like a hair and is small, one will earn a lot but may be troubled by the hidden enemies and venereal diseases. If this line starts from the line formed by islands and goes to Malika Rekha, crystal clear and deep, one might have taken birth in a reputed and rich family. He will be a love of arts and value it.
If this line has a Serpentine formation and is curved one will have mental weakness. If 16 such lines are there in both the hands, then one will head a royal family and has all sorts of luxuries, comforts. This is there when Venus or Saturn becomes Yog Karak.
When this line is unclear in the first segment of the thumb and appears in the second segment, then one will be born in a poor-low level family, but his business will flourish in the second stage of life. He will earn name, fame and wealth.
If this line is like a thread with black or yellow colour, one will have a lot of money and possessions. If this line is red or pink and is bright and lovely, its significance will increase many fold.
(9). RIPU REKHA :- This line is inauspicious and enters the palm over the Venus by cutting the Yav Rekha, Rati Rekha and Malika Rekha and side by side reducing their auspicious impact. It brings poverty, frustration, enmity and tensions along with it. The enemy is powerful and ruin the possessor in the absence of other auspicious signs. A faded-depleted-shallow line does not cause much harm as compared to a deep, clear line, fine line. One should organise Shatrunjay Yagy to minimise the impact of this line. He should recite Hanuman Chalisa every day after purification and observe a fast on every Tuesday and Saturday. The has been found to vanish by adopting these measures. However he should control his anger and avoid indulgence in enmity.
It starts from the foot of Rohini-Line and goes along the centre of the left hand thumb up to the nail. It will have one or two sprouts spreading out like the horns of a deer. It grants education-knowledge-learning and wealth.KARIDANTURA :: It is found over the left hand thumb running from below to the nail, with a two-pronged fork, like the tusks of an elephant. One with this line will have raised teeth. A person with line will have crooked limbs and perverted desires also.
KAMVALLI :: It is found above Kapila and Yukta, below the curve dividing the right hand thumb into two segments. It indicates possession of wealth-riches. In case of women, it will denote power of attraction, great fortune and fame. The name Kamvalli comes from the grant of one's desires.
KAPILA :: Kapila is seen a little above the foot of the right hand thumb, upward & a bit thick in formation. Generally, its dark in colour. The bearer will survive for over 100 years virtuously. He will enjoy excellent health, wealth, relatives and sons.
YUKTA :: Yukta is found between the first and the middle Sandhi-juncture of the right hand thumb. It will resemble the Sandhi Rekha. It will make a person emperor. The line is so called since such people are famous for their wisdom and wise actions.
SECOND PHALANGE OF THE THUMB (Logic) :: If an island is present in the middle of the thumb, the bearer will enjoy luxurious food and edibles.
MADHAVI :: This vertical line is found at the tip of the right hand thumb. It results in great prosperity. If it is made up of several lines, one will enjoy eternal happiness-bliss. Its so called, since such will dislike liquor.
KANDALI :: It is found over the crest of the right hand thumb in a vertical position. It has to be thick. One who possess this line may become an emperor. A woman who has this line will see her desires accomplished and get marital happiness-bliss. The name Kandali suggests the head and beauty of a freshly opened flower. Mukut suggests the glamour attached with this line.
BHAVITREE :: It is deep, dark and blackish in appearance. It is present over the tip of the right hand thumb, near the nail. One with this possession becomes beloved of the 3 worlds. The results of one's action will commensurate with his efforts.
RUKMAPRABHA :: Its present over the first phalange of he thumb over the tip. It makes the bearer will become famous & a world leader.
DHANI :: This island formation over the left hand thumb is perhaps the only case in which the island is auspicious. The shape-figure is identical to barley.

I have examined several hands in which the left and right thumbs of different shape and size, indicating the impact of genetics and environment-company over the parents. In such I adhere to the result shown by the right hand. The personality of person may not match his behaviour due to the impact of social-environmental impact, but the genetics of the bearer will show its impact & the bearer will be in his true form when anger, anguish or on being sentimental. He is religious and spiritual as well. He may become an engineer, scientists.  (5). RECTANGULAR :- He is materialistic-pragmatic & enjoys life. Generally, he is alert and energetic, but avoid learning. Proper education & guidance will make him a great worker, police-army personal.  (6). UNDEVELOPED :- Its too close to the palm. Bearer may lack prudence and possess animal instinct. Generally, such people may be joskin-jungle man..  (7). THICK :- May be cruel, physically strong, mentally weak, egoistic and imprudent. Do not bother about the dangers. His sole moto is to earn and enjoy life.  (8). LONG AND SLENDER-THIN :- Bearer posses good health, energetic, smart and artistic. His progress is slow. His involves in love affairs. Chances of his success are low. He is spendthrift.  (9). CROOKED :- He may be deceptive, imprudent, furious. Possess low mentality. Education, spirituality, religion, education, God takes back seat in his life.  (10). LEVELLED-UNIFORM :- Its thick at the base narrow at the top. One may be selfish, narrow minded. Though rich but miser. His business is generally good, runs his family life smoothly but avoid relations with public, friends, relatives in general.  (11). ROUND :- Though devoted to God yet full of rivalry and enmity for others. Though fearful yet clever. Like spicy food. Possess a bit more anger and excitement, stimulation. On being excited he do not think of the after effects of his actions. Friendship with him may be harmful.  (12). BROAD :- Though practical yet fails to control his anger. Spiritual and well to do. THREE PHALANGES OF THE THUMB ::
FIRST PHALANGE :-
It show will power and determination. If it is longer than the second phalange, it will indicate that the bearer has strong determination and will power. He should have the backing of a strong Line of Head as well, for correct actions in the long run. Lack of reasoning and and logic may lead to hasty actions and he may suffer later.
