IDEAL HAND :: Beautiful & well formed hand, soft skin with pink coloured palm and beautiful fingers.
IDEALISM (1). :: Line of head & Life Line are joined at the on set. Straight Line of Head bearing cross at the termination over Upper Mars; where a line from the third phalange of Mercury joins it and a normal Mercury.
IDEALISM (2). :: (1). Fingers are longer than the palm.
IDEALISM (2). :: (1). Fingers are longer than the palm.
(2). Nails are developed like almonds.
(3). Jupiter is normally developed and locate-placed.
(4). First phalange of the Index finger is well developed.
(5). Pointed-conical fingers.
IDEAL BEHAVIOUR :: Long fingers with the first phalange of the Index finger slightly long. Round nails with the shape of almonds. Pointed Index finger and developed Jupiter. Unclear lines are absent over the palm.
IDEAL HUSBAND :: (1). Index finger is well built-beautiful. (2). The apex of Jupiter is placed in the center. (3). Venus & Moon are centrally located-in their own places. (4). Line of Head is thin. (5). One prong of Heart Line goes to Index finger and the other goes to the center of Index finger & Saturn finger.
IDEAL WIFE :: (1). Long, straight, pointed and flexible fingers. (2). All mounts are normal & in their own place.(3). Venus, Moon & Mars are not exaggerated. (4). Heart Line is branched and forked over the Jupiter. (5). Line of Head is straight, thumbs bends slightly behind. (6). Little and middle fingers are pointed-conical.(7). Middle finger resembles the fingers of an artisan and the Sun finger is conical. (8). Fish, conch and tridents are auspicious.

IMPOTENCY, INFERTILITY-INABILITY TO BEAR CHILDREN :: A thick line running close to the Rascette reaching Moon, represent defects of the genital organs.
INCOMPETENCE :: (1). Long fingers with pointed ends, (2). First phalange of the thumb, too flexible, (3). Index finger small, (4). Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn are depressed, (5). wide gaps between fingers-characteristics of wasteful expenditure.

INDIGESTION :: Mercury Line is cut by many cross lines and the Mercury Line touches Life Line, worst if it cuts Life Line and enters Venus.
INFLUENCE LINES :: These lines originate from the Mars and the Venus. They are both horizontal and vertical. Horizontal lines tend to move towards the Life Line, Line of Fate, Sun Line, Line of Head or the Line of Heart. The subject has to undergo the evil effects and agony if the influence lines cut any of the five lines listed here. Age at which evil take off is read from the Life Line and the line itself. Normally, these lines foretell trouble from the opposite sex. Self control-restraint and determination can prevent the damage. Vertical lines represent favourable influences of the opposite sex, till they do not touch the life line and are widely separated. They give strength and will power to the subject.
INHERITANCE :: Presence of a triangle over the rascette leads to attainment of wealth over by the elders. If a line is found moving from the rascette to the Venus the possessor is blessed with progeny and attainment of the wealth left over by the elders. Presence of double Line of Head, a cross in the large triangle, first rascette has a star or the first rascette has a fork or a oblique-slant line; the grand father of the possessor would have a large wealth.
INTUITION Vs LOGIC-REASONING :: One often find it difficult to come to the conclusion, unable to decide what is right or wrong for him! The tip of the thumb governs the intuition or Gut Instinct. The second phalanx-middle section, shows the development of the logical mind. The fist and second phalanges of the thumb may have one or more horizontal lines which divides them into blocks or segments. One may not have even a single line over the fist or the second phalange. If the middle section has several horizontal lines, logic often losses its trust worthiness. In that case if there is a conflict between the thought and the impulse-feelings one should give weightage to the intuition. If the first phalanx shows horizontal lines then one has to trust the logic. Several vertical lines crossing one of the phalanges, indicate that the blind spot had been overcome, successfully by the native.
INNER-SPIRITUAL STRENGTH :: One who has well developed Line of Intuition in his hand is blessed with inner strength if he has a circle over Jupiter just below the Index finger.
INTOLERANT :: Line of Heart and the Line of Head are parallel from beginning till end, makes one intolerant, worried-distraught and hurried.
INSANITY :: A black spot an the Head Line connected by a Line of Influence with a star on the Mount of Venus :- It points to deep sorrow (sometimes insanity) due to the death of a loved one.

INTUITION-INSIGHT LINE :: It starts from the line of Life and moves up to the Line of Head. Possessors of this line often see the future events in advance. This line gives insight-farsightedness or the sixth sense to the subject. This line is found as an independent curved line from the extreme end of the palm over the lower Luna, moves to the middle Luna and then reaches the extreme end of the palm over the upper Luna. It provides clairvoyance, power to see Past, Present and the future, without the knowledge of Astrology-Palmistry. It gives power to peep into the future. One may have a big cross between the Line of Head and the Line of Heart. The quadrangle may have two crosses as well, one under the Jupiter & the other under the Saturn. Presence of Line of Intuition, Jupiter Ring and triangle over the Saturn also develop this faculty. The Little finger is pointed. Three rascette are present.

ISLAND :: This island formation over the left hand thumb is perhaps the only case in which the island is auspicious. The shape-figure is identical to barley.
Island is an inauspicious sign. It weakens the qualities of the lines and the mounts, wherever its present.
ISLAND CHAIN :: The line is made up of thick bell like formations, golden in colour. It grants undeceivality, fame and possession of golden ornaments. This is found over left hand thumb.

One island, one son, more island more sons i.e., two islands two sons. Broken island abortion.
ISOLATION :: Presence of a square between Life Line & Line of Mars, touching the Life Line below the thumb leads to isolation of a person from the society. He prefer to remain aloof, away from the hustle-bustle of the society. This mark of seclusion is often present in the hands of prisoners, which means protection. Both square and Line of Mars are signs of protection. Normally the recluse, Yogis who resort to asceticism austerities in the forests, caves, mountains may have this mark.
IMPRISONMENT :: Presence of a square near the lower Venus may lead to isolation from society. Square being a mark of protection protects the bearer through this device from death-murder. Presence of square over Upper Mars-Mental Mars along with a square over Venus also lead to same result.
Presence of 4 phalanges over fingers may lead one to imprisonment but if the fourth phalange is cut-broken, one will be protected from jail.
Movement of a line from Mental Mars to Saturn may lead one to imprisonment.
Line of Fate starting from the quadrangle :- It may result into imprisonment if other indications are also present.
A crooked Line of Fate starting from Physical Mars and terminating at Saturn :- It may lead to imprisonment (check other signs as well). Barred Line Of Fate indicates :- It a bad omen, unfortunate sign, obstacles. if the Line of Fate passes over them and severs (काटना, पार कर लेना) them, one will overcome difficulties. Each bar is a separate obstruction. If the Luck Line is thicker-bolder than these obstruction lines, one is sure to sail through successfully. However one must not loose heart. Bars in ladder like formation-sequence too show misfortune. They may lead to imprisonment as well. Bar enclosed-trapped in square protects the bearer-minimising the evil effects.
The Line of Fate rises till the line of Head in Rahu and then turns back making a hook like shape in a semi circular manner :: Imprisonment.

Star on 3rd phalange of Saturn finger :: At least jail-imprisonment or death.

INAUSPICIOUS HAND :: (1). Tough hand with fingers bent inside the palm. (2). Line of Head is small and thick. (3). Line of Head rises and merges with Line of Heart depicting criminal nature-tendencies. (4). Small thumb with thick second phalange. (5). Venus is a bit long and abnormal. (6). Nails are small and reddish in colour.
INDR KSHETR-PLUTO :: Its the area on the palm below the Line of Heart and above the Line of Head and is situated between the Mounts of Harshal and Jupiter. This space can be clearly seen over the palm provided the bearer has both the Lines of Head and the Heart. In case both of these lines are fused into one, a simian line occurs which does not give good results.
Its influence can be seen only in the old age. If this Mount is prominent, then the person passes his old age happily. If a cross is found on this Mount, the person will die before the age of 45 in an accident.
If the Mount is exaggerated then the person would be rude and behave like an illiterate and prodigal and has to face many difficulties in life. He would not get any co-operation from his family and friends.
If the Mount is not developed properly, then the person would be unlucky. His nature turns irritable and troublesome.
INSULT :: Upward branches of Life Line are cut by horizontal line from mars or Venus. They may bring insult or failure of Law Suit. It definitely checks progress.

He consumes a lot of wine and may die at the age where this offshoots cuts the Life Line if the offshoot slopes too much over Luna i.e., inclined over lower Luna. (2). Heart Line is too close to the Line of Head. The impact is enhanced if the Sun finger is too long and the thumb is flexible.
